The Bachi armchair originated in the 1960s from a playful and free approach to design, characteristic of the most experimental phase of Italian design.
Its fluid lines and unconventional volumes reflect the period’s interest in formal exploration and innovation in furniture. Conceptually, Bachi represents two cushions folded onto themselves and brought together: one positioned vertically to form the backrest, the other horizontally to create the seat, generating a soft, enveloping volume. This design translates the simple, playful gesture of folding and overlapping into an organic, sculptural language.
