Macrodosing is inspired by the ambiguity of the mushroom — a form that exists between nourishment and intoxication, delicacy and toxicity.
In nature, the mushroom can be delicious, hallucinogenic, or lethal. Its beauty conceals uncertainty. It attracts and unsettles at the same time. This tension between seduction and danger is what fascinated the designer. The table abstracts this duality into structure.
A dense vertical core rises from the ground, composed of rhythmic wooden ribs reminiscent of the hidden gills beneath a cap. These repeated elements create depth and shadow, forming an organic architecture that feels both protective and slightly enigmatic.
The use of multiple wood essences reinforces the idea of multiplicity — subtle variations in tone and grain suggesting complexity beneath a calm surface. Above, the expansive Breccia Pontificia top unfolds like a canopy — sheltering while simultaneously asserting its presence.
Macrodosing transforms a natural form charged with meaning into a monumental table. Elegant yet instinctive, welcoming yet powerful, it anchors the space while preserving a quiet aura of mystery.
