Magazines from the world Casa Roma Adario by Rosaria Zucconi. Ph Credits Alberto Strada Milan welcomes back Design Week! Milan welcomes back Design Week! Elle Decor Italia’s September issue celebrates the return of Milano Design Week, with in-depth articles and interviews with the driving forces behind the event, Maria Porro and Stefano Boeri, and glimpses of the home of tomorrow, which will be versatile, high-tech and green. After a wait of over a year, September welcomed the return of Milano Design Week and the Salone del Mobile.Milano, with its "supersalone" show. Elle Decor Italia devoted this month's issue to this momentous week, with the story behind the"Casa Fluida" exhibition-installation at Palazzo Bovara, and Paola Carimati's interview with Maria Porro, the first woman at the helm of the Salone del Mobile. Formerly the President of Assarredo (the Italian Association of furniture, upholstered furniture, kitchen, bedding and furnishing accessory manufacturers), she is very clear about her mandate, which is to forge alliances, and foster beauty and quality. The magazine also offers readers an interview, also by Paola Carimati, with Stefano Boeri, the curator of the special Salone-staged event entitled "supersalone"; for Boeri the future of trade is phygital and the event marks a "starting point, a disruption that breaks with the past, with tradition, and with the old ways." The same forward-looking approach emerges clearly from the homes selected by the magazine to depict the new post-pandemic domestic space. In an interview with Formafantasma, winners of the EDIDA Sustainable Achievement Award, we learn what it means to be green, with a focus on the Cambio (Change) exhibition and the powerful message it sends out to the design community. Design Directory 2021, on the other hand, reports on what's new in furniture design, citing brands like Giorgetti, Turri, Moroso, Kartell, Molteni&C, Flexform and more. This special issue offers insights into the return of Design Week to Milan.
