What is Salone Raritas
Salone Raritas is the new exhibition and curatorial pathway debuting at the 64th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano. The initiative presents special and limited design editions, unique pieces, antiques, and high-end creative craftsmanship.
For the first time, collectible design enters the heart of Salone del Mobile.Milano with a dedicated platform. The goal is to bridge the gap between special creative production and the B2B market of contemporary design, connecting galleries of excellence with architects, interior designers, developers, and hospitality operators.
The name derives from Latin and evokes the concepts of rarity, uniqueness, and sought-after exceptionality. The selection of exhibitors is deliberately restricted: approximately 25 entities including international galleries, antique dealers, excellence manufacturers, and companies with custom-made productions.
Curation and exhibition design
Annalisa Rosso
The curation of Salone Raritas is entrusted to Annalisa Rosso, Editorial Director and Cultural Events Advisor for Salone del Mobile.Milano and Director of The Euroluce International Lighting Forum.
Annalisa Rosso is one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary Italian design. She was Editor-in-Chief of Icon Design (Mondadori) from 2018 to 2020 and Director of the Domus website from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, she co-founded Mr.Lawrence, a design consulting studio based in Milan.
For Salone del Mobile.Milano, she has curated high-profile projects: the "Library of Light" installation by Es Devlin at Pinacoteca di Brera in 2025, "A Thinking Room" by David Lynch in 2024, and the "Drafting Futures" Talk and Round Tables program that since 2020 has hosted names like John Pawson, Francis Kéré, and Hans Ulrich Obrist.
TEDx speaker and Design Ambassador for Italian Design Day in Prague, Hong Kong, and Copenhagen, she has participated in juries and committees including The Design Prize in Milan, Design Parade in Hyères, Designblok in Prague, Collectible in Brussels, and Madrid Design Festival.
Formafantasma
The exhibition design of Salone Raritas is created by Formafantasma, a studio founded by Simone Farresin and Andrea Trimarchi based in Milan and Rotterdam.
The concept reinterprets the trade fair space as a large architectural lantern. The pathway is articulated in modular islands that allow each exhibitor to express their identity within a collective narrative.
