The gateway to the island state of Indonesia, as well as being its capital, Jakarta is one of the world’s greatest megacities, and a strategic commercial port for the whole Asian quadrant. 
 

For years, magazines have been looking for ways to become something else. They have become websites, newsletters, Instagram accounts, and finally podcasts. The Grand Tourist has taken the opposite path. It started with a voice and arrived at paper.
