Pi is a bronze sculpture that inhabits a space as much as it serves it. Whether used as a side table, an occasional stool or a discreet stand, the object complements everyday life whilst defying any single definition. This ambiguity, characteristic of Xavier Lust’s work, is part of a creative process where form arises from a sign: Pi gives substance to a universal figure. Its name and silhouette evoke the number π, the infinite constant linking circumference and diameter, whose mathematical depth finds a sculptural expression here. A polymorphous object, it transforms depending on the viewpoint, the light or its use. In bronze, a material of permanence, the designer asserts a cross-cutting presence—dense and calm, immediately legible yet irreducible to a single interpretation. Between rigour and openness, Pi seems less invented than revealed.

Since 1992, Brussels-based designer Xavier Lust has been recognized for the visible tension within his objects and the curves generated through his innovative process of metal deformation.
