Exhibitions Listen Paolo Ferrarini’s new podcast for the Salone del Mobile Add to bookmarks Ph. Rafa Jacinto "Parola Progetto" is a point of reference on the Italian design scene. To mark the April edition of the trade fair, the journalist, educator and curator has put together three special episodes The first of these three special editions of Parola Progetto, produced in collaboration with the Salone del Mobile.Milano, out on Saturday 15th March. The podcast was launched in 2018 by the journalist, educator and curator Paolo Ferrarini. With more than 60 episodes under its belt, Parola Progetto gives voice to the protagonists of the world of design through in-depth conversations, exploring the creative processes and dynamics of design. A unique space for getting to know and find out more about the visions and creative choices of those who live design on a daily basis. The podcast protagonists are designers, architects, artists, musicians, curators, entrepreneurs and journalists from a range of different sectors, including product design, fashion, music, film, food, graphics and publishing. As Paolo Ferrarini says: “Parola Progetto is a podcast of conversations with people who live and breathe design, in which design is discussed in all its forms, without objects or images, just words.” In light of the first ever edition of The Euroluce International Lighting Forum, two days (10th -11th April) directed by Annalisa Rosso, editorial director and cultural events advisor of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, in collaboration with APIL, the special guest of the first episode will be Carlo Urbinati, President of Assoluce of FederlegnoArredo. The second episode features Mario Cucinella, Architect & Founder of MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects, and author of the installation at Palazzo Citterio for La Grande Brera. The British artist and designer Es Devlin, author of Library of Light, a Salone project in collaboration with the Pinacoteca di Brera, is the protagonist of the third episode.Paolo Ferrini had this to say: “In these three episodes, we will talk about the culture of light, addressing it from the point of view of business, architecture and art. We will explore concrete ideas and applications, consistent with the format of Parola Progetto. Since 2018, this has been a space in which ‘design is discussed in all its forms, without objects or images, just words.’ Here all forms of design and all words are made welcome. The guests take up the challenge of describing their work not through the eyes but through the ears. This makes for a slow, collected, almost private dimension, which is all too often lacking in design. The Salone del Mobile is a precision tool that measures the state of design each year. Observing the changes, the evolutions and the dynamics allows all of us professionals to read an entire sector. Parola Progetto does this too, thanks to the ideas and thoughts of the designers I’ve met over the years.” On the subject of the partnership with the Salone del Mobile.Milano, he continued: “This collaboration makes me particularly happy, and I’m quite sure that the ‘people who live and breathe design’ featured in these three episodes will add an extra strand of knowledge to a world we all love.” Parola Progetto is available on all the main streaming platforms from Saturday 15th March.
