In the kitchen, lighting has long since fulfilled more than just one purpose: targeted functional lighting guarantees safe working conditions, while dynamic light colours and dimmable lights can be individually adapted to the circumstances and time of day to create a relaxed atmosphere. However, until now, in the kitchen sector there was no consistent, continuous lighting system that meets multiple requirements. In a project spanning more than two years, the designers and engineers of the family companies Schüller and Häfele – specialists in intelligent fittings, electronic closing systems and lighting and networking – came up with pioneering solutions.
Highlights that set the mood in the kitchen
LumiQ provides a plethora of new features, starting with the innovative switch-on and switch-off sequences: light signatures that are controlled via digital LED strips and welcome you to step inside the kitchen. New to the sector is the continuous grip ledge lighting for dishwasher fronts, which stays on when the appliance is opened.
Lighting technology that sets standards
To create LumiQ, existing lighting solutions were extensively refined to optimise energy efficiency, service life and user friendliness. The switch to 24-volt technology has made all LumiQ lighting components even more efficient and long-lasting. Seamless dimming of all lights and adjustable light colours from warm to neutral white (2700–5000 kelvin) provide the perfect functional and mood lighting. Innovative optics provide optimum lighting in the desired work area. Fast, self-explanatory installation is guaranteed, as is the easy replacement of all lights within the scope of the Ecodesign Directive.
Cutting-edge technology enables all components to be operated by remote control, app or an optional button on the wall. Integration into smart-home systems like Alexa, KNX or Casambi is also possible, opening up further automation options. For utmost convenience and a cosy atmosphere, different lighting sequences and routines can be set and saved for certain times of day or occasions.
