Marco Nozza is a lighting designer whose path weaves together design, research and the narration of light.
A Junior Associate at IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers) and a member of VLDC (Virtual Lighting Design Community), he trained with a master's degree in Lighting Design earned in 2018 at IED Milan. In the following years, he refined his design practice working across industrial, outdoor and educational settings, collaborating with design studios in Italy and France and with the German company Trilux. He is currently Junior Lighting Designer at the Milan-based studio Metis Lighting.
Alongside design, he has a strong inclination for writing and human connection, which lead him to tell the story of light through articles and interviews as well. His editorial path began in 2020, as an author for the blog Luxemozione, continued with the online magazine Making of Light, and reached a significant milestone in 2022, when he became an author for LUCE, the first and most authoritative Italian magazine dedicated to light, and among the most prominent internationally. More recently, he has extended his collaboration to the Italian magazine Atmosfera Mag.
On the design and installation front, he took part in the 24th edition of the international workshop "Lights in Alingsås" with the installation "Pulse of Life," as well as in the first editions of the international workshops "Going Dark" and "The Lighting Police." In 2022, he also took part, as a gaffer, in the Italian short film "Vertigo Spritz."
A further recognition came with his nomination as Mentee Winner at the Silhouette Awards 2024, a milestone that symbolically marks the beginning of his journey into light.
