Griante reinterprets the concept of woven seating through a design that combines traditional craftsmanship and industrial production.
Griante reinterprets the concept of woven seating through a design that combines traditional craftsmanship and industrial production. The collection includes two different versions: one designed for indoor and one for outdoor spaces. Both options include a chair, an armchair, and a lounge version. The frame of the indoor version is made of FSC® C114358 certified ash wood. The main feature of Griante is the handwoven seat and backrest made in Italy, with a fully recyclable polypropylene yarn belt with a soft, three-dimensional texture, ensuring comfort and weather resistance. The colours of the weave give to the chair an accurate aspect that evokes natural landscapes. The woven pattern is characterised by the repeated use of geometries of squares, that highlights the generous proportions of the seat, creating a sophisticated and welcoming look. With its timeless design, Griante shows attention to detail in every aspect: the cylindrical legs are turned, and the oval-shaped armrest is tapered where it joins the back leg. The aluminium frame provides support for the seat. Griante fits seamlessly into a variety of indoors and outdoors environments: the ash wood version is perfect for indoor dining rooms while the lounge versions create elegant and welcoming areas. The expert craftsmanship and mechanical assembly of its parts make Griante strong, lightweight and easy to disassemble. “Griante is the name of a town overlooking Lake Como, our chosen backdrop. When we sit outside, we like to look out over the lake. This is how we like to imagine someone else sitting on Griante, experiencing the same pleasure that this lovely place gives us.” - says CMP Design.
