The rhythm hidden within a structured pattern

The RETI collection is a proposal from the German studio Terhedebrügge with a noticeable graphic inspiration, as it recreates a grid transferred to a rug. Its appearance may recall the grids used in graphic design to work on editorial compositions, but also that of an urban layout or a notebook.

RETI rugs are made with soft recycled PET fibers on hand-operated looms using the hand loom technique, so their touch is very pleasant, and at the same time, they are very resistant. This artisanal manufacturing process is what allows their design to be executed with the necessary precision.

“RETI is born from our passion for grids. We love their order, their rhythm and their simple beauty,” explain the studio. “A grid is a very strong but at the same time flexible ordering system, which can accommodate many forms. That’s why we chose RETI as the name of the collection, which comes from the Latin word rete, meaning net or woven structure. A term that refers to both something structured and flexible, which is precisely what we were pursuing with our design.”
