Director of Acquisition Middle East and Senior Architect at Snøhetta
Eli Synnevåg is a Senior Architect and Director of Acquisition at Snøhetta, where she has been part of the team since 2000. She has contributed to a wide range of projects, including the KMD Academy of Fine Art in Bergen and the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), Qasr Al Hokm Metro station and Royal Diriyah Opera House in Saudi Arabia. Since 2016, Eli has held a leadership role focused on team development, research, and innovation. Appointed Director of Acquisition in 2019, she oversees Snøhetta’s project portfolio in the Middle East and Africa, bringing strategic insight and an understanding of local conditions to guide the firm’s work in the region. Alongside her architectural practice, Eli is active in academia. She has taught and served as a guest critic at AHO, NTNU, and ETSAV, and regularly lectures internationally on Snøhetta’s design philosophy. She also serves as a jury member for architectural competitions.
