Island of San Servolo

On Thursday 22 May, the island of San Servolo in Venice will be hosting a rich program of workshops, talks, food and other cultural activities, as well as the green practices of design companies

From the state of industry to eco-friendly practices to circularity, with beneficial production processes and innovative materials, as well as the theme of measuring the contemporary changes and challenges that researchers, designers and new companies are facing in this historical period.

This and much more will be on the table at  the Green Design Days 2025, the first project by FLA Plus, FederlegnoArredo's sustainability path, aimed at a broad public of professionals and others. Its purpose is to showcase the commitment of companies in the design industry to sustainability through its environmental, social, and economic aspects.

The new format makes its debut on Thursday 22 May in the fascinating setting of the Island of San Servolo, in the heart of the Venetian lagoon, between the historic center and the Lido. This extraordinary place is rich in history and charm: once an ancient Benedictine monastery and later a renowned psychiatric hospital, San Servolo is now a vital cultural center that hosts events, exhibitions, academic activities and important international institutions.

Green Design Days represents a piece of the FLA Plus path by which the Federation is promoting sustainability in a systemic way, through initiatives on several levels, involving experts, promoting good practices and stimulating reflections on the current challenges in the sector.
