COCOON SOFA X JONAS VAN PUT
Inspired by the protective cocoon of the silk butterfly, this sofa wraps around its occupant in natural soft curves. Tactile wide straps composed of semicircles support the body naturally.
The Cocoon sofa derives its design language from the protective cocoon of the silk butterfly.
This emotive and formal reference came to life during the intuitive and manual sculpting of a scale model of the sofa. The sculptural shell folds around its temporary occupant in natural soft curves, while the tactile wide straps, composed of semicircles, naturally support the human body. A distinctive detail unfolds at the back where the vertical straps gradually merge into the horizontal ones, a refined gesture that only reveals itself upon closer inspection.
Available as both a sofa and a one-seater, the Cocoon adapts to different spaces while maintaining its distinctive sculptural character.
Designed by Jonas Van Put in collaboration with Paul Rogers.
