Leonardo's Horse, made of bronze using the lost wax casting technique
Leonardo designed a monumental equestrian statue for Francesco Sforza in Milan, creating a large seven-metre-high clay model. The statue was never cast: with the arrival of the French, the bronze was used to make cannons, and the dream vanished.
