La Pina was born in Florence on the 20th of June 1970, but she moved to Milan in 1973. Here after compulsory schooling, she enrolled in ITSOS (State Technical Institute) with a focus on Visual Communications. At this time she began her work as a committed educator with children with behavioral problems, which would continue for almost a decade. At the end of the 1980s she attended the independent rock scene of Milan and after high school she was in Bologna where she enrolled in Science of Education and discovered the Italian hip hop.
With a group of friends, Le Pine, she tried her hand at her first songs, but it was with her definitive return to Milan that La Pina entered the hip hop circuit permanently, joining the Varese band of the Otierre with whom she performed at the Palatrussardi in an evening as an opening act for Public Enemy. It was they who produced her first album, "Il CD della Pina" (1995) featuring Esa, Polare and DJ Vigor. By 1994 La Pina had appeared on their debut "Quel Sapore Particolare" and will continue her collaboration with Otierre on "Dalla sede" (1997). An artistic union was born with the band that would continue through her subsequent personal record releases, "Piovono Angeli" (1998) and "Cora" (2000) with Soul Kingdom. These works confirm La Pina as one of the most important exponents of Italian female rap. In 2002 she participated as a lyricist and co-producer on Giuliano Palma's album "GP".
Her radio experience began in 1994 at Radio Deejay together with Albertino in the program "Friday Rappa" (later "One-Two One-Two") taking care of the listeners' mail. Here Pina gets to start developing her interest in language and the written, spoken, rapped word, a recurring element of all the programs that would follow. Two years later on Radio Due she hosts between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. "In aria," and in 1997 on Rai Due the pre-evening TV strip "Sanremo in Aria" together with Platinette. In 1998 he landed on Station One with the afternoon radio sitcom "Eight Boobs Under a Roof." In 1999 she returned to Radio Deejay with "Pinup" at the close of the Monday evening slot, then she was entrusted with the morning slot "Bonjour Finesse" where her bulldog Cora played the role of pundit.
In 2002 she presented "Sex in Conduct" and "In Bed with La Pina," a late-night magazine to talk about sex without taboos, on the Gay Tv satellite channel. She was recently a pundit on the reality show "La Fattoria" on Italia 1, and is the author of the "Dating Show" The Thin Pink Line on Fox Life.
In 2007 one of her old songs, Questa Fly, was included in the soundtrack of the film Torino Boys. For the occasion, a remastered collection of songs was released, also titled Questa Fly, containing La Pina's main songs.
As a songwriter she wrote for Alessandra Amoroso the song Che peccato, together with her partner Emiliano Pepe, included in the 2009 album Senza nuvole, an experience repeated in 2011 with the song Voglio solo te, written for Loredana Errore together with Biagio Antonacci and Emiliano Pepe and included in the album L'errore.
Between 2009 and 2010, he collaborated with Nat Geo Adventure on the programs Ma che freddo fa and Tokyorama, set in Lapland and Tokyo, respectively.
She then hosted, in 2010, again together with Diego Passoni, the Deejay TV evening program Nientology and, later, Queen Size, a format similar to the previous A letto con La Pina aired for two seasons in the winter and fall of 2011, respectively, in which he interviewed various celebrities from the world of music, fashion, and entertainment directly from a bed.
In the 2011/2012 season she co-hosts with La Vale, in the 7-8 p.m. slot on Saturdays always on Radio Deejay, the weekly show dedicated to fashion, Molespina, thus flanking the daily run of Pinocchio.
On October 19, 2013, she married Emiliano Pepe with whom in 2014 she participated in the third edition of Beijing Express being eliminated during the eighth episode, thus not accessing the semifinals.
She is currently on the air on Radio Deejay with Pinocchio, a "lightening program" in the drive time slot that she has been hosting since 2001, in the company of Diego Passoni and Valentina Ricci.
