The lines of the Loving Frank modular sofa capture the spirit of Frank Lloyd Wright, the ensemble unfolding into a compact work of architecture that transcends conventional modular systems.
Its name echoes the title of author Nancy Horan’s historical novel, which recounts the real-life romance between America’s most famous architect and Martha “Mamah” Cheney. In giving this name to the sofa, we make a playful declaration of our own love for Frank, still an ever-present touchstone in the realm of contemporary design. Mauro Lipparini’s new Loving Frank system reaffirms the timeless appeal of interior architecture. Its bold stylistic language—rich without excess—charts new design frontiers with its unmistakable creative qualities and extraordinary adaptability to multiple layouts, from the simplest to the most complex configurations. Like a melody weaving through space, Loving Frank hums with personality, yet never demands the spotlight. Its candid cosmopolitanism aligns perfectly with the evolving spirit of the times, as exemplified by its numerous modular possibilities and range of materials, all working in harmonious union. The morphology of its geometries is essential yet sophisticated, accommodating both the pleasure of seating and the utility of storage and display through integrated rear-side furniture, allowing for striking architectural and scenic compositions that are as functional as they are visually compelling. Loving Frank is available in two versions: one, essential and rigorous, featuring only a padded upholstery enriched with double-stitched seams that add rhythm to the surfaces. The second version incorporates open storage units, clad in contrasting materials such as ash gray wood, Arabescato Orobico Gray marble and gunmetal-colored metals. These customizable elements offer multiple combination possibilities: the first pairs the marble of the storage unit with the leather shell, while the second combines the wooden shelves with the leather of both the shell and the storage unit.
