Mattia Balsamini (1987, Italy) is a photographer. He began his studies at the Brooks

Institute of California, graduating with an Honourable Mention in 2011. He worked as a studio assistant and archivist at David LaChapelle’s studio in 2010.

Mattia focuses his attention on the concept of work and scientific research as an identity factor for the human race. His images reveal his interest in the functionality of technology and graphic elements in everyday life. Over the years he has carried out personal and publishing projects as part of and in collaboration with institutions such as the Max Planck Institute for Physics, MIT Boston, NASA, the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Zurich, the Forensic Anthropology and Odontology Laboratory at the University of Milan, the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy in Amsterdam and the German Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation - SPRIND.
