Jean Cocteau - Coupe plate flat Le Gabier de Vigie Ø 21
Categoria: Complementi d'arredo
Raynaud presents in collaboration with Comité Jean Cocteau, a complete collection directly inspired by the ceramic works created by Jean Cocteau in the 1950s.
"Pottery saved my life! It saves me from using ink which has become too dangerous because everything we write is systematically distorted by those who read it... " A jack-of-all-trades, Jean Cocteau became interested in ceramics between 1957 and 1963, in the workshop of Madeleine Jolly and Philippe Madeline in Villefranche-sur-mer where he created more than 300 pieces of earthenware. "Proud to have become an artisan-ceramist", he creates pieces with clean and pure graphics, faithful to the style of his drawings. We find his favorite motifs, with mythical and magical inspirations: tragic heroes of mythology, fantastic plants, angels and characters of tales, embody the overflowing and brilliant imagination of the poet. In 1983, Raynaud published three motifs from Jean Cocteau's ceramic universe on pale pink paste plates in a 250-copy run with the Seta Aubusson company.
