Bowie
Collection: Bowie
Category: Seating
Observation of the bow kite, the inflatable kite used in kiteboarding, which curves and is propelled by the wind in order to gain altitude, was the generating idea behind the Bowie chair .
Two concave shells accommodate and surround the body like a lightweight, thin carapace, creating a comfortable and flexible shape that encourages a wide variety of sitting positions.
The basic idea for the Bowie is to derive as much comfort as possible from the seat and backrest elements, made of curved ash plywood from the same mould, with upholstery that covers the shell while leaving the outline of the frame visible. This delicate dining chair with its genuine yet strong structure plays on the poetic assonance between the concave parts, which will also be echoed in the lounge version planned for the future extension of the collection.
