Zero is an innovative project for a totally green chair made from recycled plastic. It's a product that's easy to store, ship, and transport, and can be quickly assembled with a €1 coin without tools! The seat and backrest can be easily replaced if damaged, making the product renewable from a sustainable point of view. Zero is made entirely of thermoplastic technopolymer with 100% recycled polyolefins; an environmentally friendly product as it is made by recycling industrial waste that would otherwise be disposed of. In addition to avoiding the use of new fossil resources, it recycles industrial waste and waste that returns as raw materials in the production cycle, without compromising the aesthetic and functional performance of the product. A saving for the industry and the environment, in line with the principles of the circular economy. Zero was born as a research project but also as a reflection on industrial development; a project that is not only focused on the design but is inextricably linked to other elements such as sustainability, sales methods, use and disposal.
Design has new responsibilities in the increasingly complex world we are living in and the sustainability of projects through the simplification of processes, plays a fundamental role in the design. ZERO is a kit chair, made of post-industrial recycled plastic that can be once again completely recycled. To assemble it you do not need tools, but just a simple coin. It has no metal parts and all its components are replaceable for a long-lasting use. The packaging design has also been driven by sustainability: made of recycled cardboard, this pack has very small dimensions and allows you to flat ship the product so as to facilitate the distribution and storage, reducing the environmental impact of the logistics activity. Why did we choose such a simple design? To hide the sophisticated technological and cultural research behind a product like this, giving it a reassuring look. Its shapes are linear, soft and comfortable, and they design ZERO exactly as we always imagined it.
Zero is entirely made of thermoplastic technopolymer with 100% recycled polyolefins. This material allows to make products much more environmentally friendly because they derive from the recycling of industrial waste otherwise destined for disposal. Zero not only doesn’t use new fossil resources, but even requalifies industrial waste that return in the production cycle as raw materials without compromising the aesthetic and functional
aspect of the product. A saving for industry and the environment, in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.
