Confindustria General Council meeting at the Salone del Mobile.Milano

This year, for the very first time, Confindustria held its General Council meeting at the Salone del Mobile.Milano this morning. “When we look at the Salone del Mobile, we realise what Italian industry is, and what should it be – a high intensity added value industry, which sees beauty as a major asset. This is where the Italy of the present and of the future exist,” remarked Confindustria President, Vincenzo Boccia, during the opening ceremony, underscoring the wood-furnishing sector’s ability to throw itself open to new markets, to achieve 7% growth in a strategic country like China, and to create a system.

We were delighted to accept President of FederlegnoArredo Emanuele Orsini’s invitation to hold the Confindustria General Council meeting here. It seemed a good way, not least symbolically, to give centrality to the issue of the country’s industrial situation, starting from a sector that has brought ample reward. It is a symbolic choice because it brings the centrality of Italy’s industrial situation to the attention of our country at a Salone that is the image of a country that is ready to respond.”

This is precisely a time when we need to create a system, a system that works and that is solid,” said FederlegnoArredo President, Emanuele Orsini. “The Salone del Mobile currently represents a large section of Made in Italy on a global stage. We have to stay close to the heart of our businesses.”

“We are delighted to welcome the Confindustria General Council to the Salone del Mobile, an event that by its very nature represents the very best of the Italian business system, deeply rooted in this region while also assuming a global dimension,” said Claudio Luti, President of the Salone del Mobile.
