Item: #CR125 Cabinet

A masterpiece intended as an expression of the highest craftsmanship, such as to be counted among the most valuable works of the French style during the reign of Louis XVI.

Louis XVI King of France, his wife Queen Marie Antoinette were the manifesto of the "bien vivre", with their royal and aristocratic residences, adorned with furnishings of the highest quality and expression of a cultured and refined craftsmanship.

This is the context and the source of inspiration for this "commode a vantaux", built on a model made in the eighteenth century for one of the Queen's residences. A piece where the solidity of the frame is lightened by the tapered feet, bronze decorations that evoke mythological scenes and by the Calacatta Oro marble top. The solid mahogany with which the frame is made gives an aura of elegance and refinement, but it is the decorations that make it an outstanding piece: bronze ornaments, capitals, medallions, decorations add an almost unparalleled richness.
