Italian by birth, Brazilian by choice, she has always gone to and fro between both countries.  She took her degree from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of di São Paulo in Brazil in 1979,  obtaining degree equivalency from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1985.

She moved to Milan in 1982, where she worked in the studios of Mangiarotti, Belgioioso and Bellini and contributed to the Brazilian architectural magazines AU and Projeto, as Italian correspondent. She started working with Italian architectural magazines during the 90s, including Costruire and Abitare, becoming their Brazilian correspondent as of 1994. After the birth of her first daughter in 1988, she went self-employed and devoted herself to renovations, with particular focus on works management.

She went back to live in São Paulo in 2002, where she obtained a Masters in Vernacular Architecture. She has curated a number of exhibitions on the urbanisation of favelas in São Paolo; translated books on architecture and urban planning (Bernardo Secchi, Donatella Calabi and others) from Portuguese into Italian; written a number of books in Portuguese while continuing to design and oversee projects in both Brazil and in Italy. She currently splits her time between Milan and São Paulo.
