Nunc

Nunc is a furniture manufacturer from Slavonia, Đakovo, Croatia. It debuted in 2019 at the furniture fair in Cologne Germany, and it has been growing and conquering markets ever since. The products are created by designers descended from the wider region, who materialized their design ideas using an invaluable natural resource from Slavonia — durable, high-quality, timeless and beautiful timber. The tradition and culture of everyday life, and the traditional design of items, are reinterpreted in contemporary language, combined with modern technology, resulting in timeless aesthetics of simplicity in every “now”. The immense cultural heritage embodied in the Nuncs collection has been the main drive to start translating from the then to the now.

The product names communicate the character of their designs, using the Slavonian region's typical vocabulary combining Croatian, Serbian, German, Hungarian, and Turkish words into an Imaginarium of ancient lifestyle, with sounds and letters solely unique to this specific area. For example, Dika means proud, Bolta means arch, Svib means flower, Taraba means fence, etc.
