A daily dose of healthy irony

Ironic messages that upset the daily routine, breaking the boredom and repetition in favor of humor and mild disenchantment. This sums up the spirit that animates the installations of Australian artist Michael Pederson, who since 2012 has been disseminating small and large works of street art around Sydney, inserting them into the urban fabric with a biting wit.

Automobiles, flowers, benches, abandoned road signs, armchairs, shopping bags: objects of everyday use become the surfaces to which Pederson affixes his acerbic, unsettling messages, compelling people to stop for a moment and observe the world through a different gaze, at once playful and charged with meaning.
